It is the national airline for Sri Lanka. In 1978,

the airline replaced Air Ceylon as the national airline

under the name Airlanka but in 2002 changed to the

current name.

Srilankan Airlines has its hub at Bandaranaike International

Airport outside Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo.

The airline has been considered by SkyTrax as one of

central Asia’s best airlines in 2002.
