Norwegian Air, or Norwegian, is a Norwegian airline.

The company was founded in 1993 by Bjørn Kjos,

later CEO from 2002 to 2019.

Norwegian operates both domestic and international

scheduled flights as well as charter flights.

The company is the Nordic region’s largest low-cost airline

and has about 45 percent of the market in Norway.

It also has extensive operations in Sweden, Denmark

and Finland.

Norwegian Air has its administrative base at Fornebu,

technical base in Stavanger and operational bases in Bergen,

Stavanger, Trondheim, Oslo, Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen,

Alicante, Malaga, Las Palmas, Gothenburg and London.

Arlanda also has the office for the Swedish part of the company.

In 2017, over 33 million passengers with Norwegians flew a total

of 149 aircraft to 150 different destinations, making Norwegian Air

the second largest company in Scandinavia after SAS.
